12 Testers, 14 Days, and a Subreddit: How I Published My First App on Google Play

A follow-up on releasing Cartastrofe and getting through the 12-testers-for-14-days requirement on Google Play.

A few weeks ago I wrote about how I rescued Cartastrofe, a card game for couples that had been sitting unfinished on GitHub for months, and prepared it for Google Play.

That first piece covered the landing page, the waitlist, the 25 USD developer account, and the now-famous requirement to get 12 testers for 14 days before Google lets you move toward production.

If you did not read that one yet, the short version is this: Cartastrofe is an app where you open a deck with your partner, the app deals 12 random cards out of 40, and you get 24 hours to use them. Missions, decisions, defense cards, and absurd situations. A shared MVP that we decided to revive in public.
